Fashion Futures 2016: Print Works

2016, FAD Projects, Fashion Futures

During the half term FAD held an optional print workshop for 2016’s Fashion Futures intake. The young people had the opportunity to learn two printing techniques during the session; heat transfer printing and screen printing.

After mastering some new equipment, the heat transfer press, the young people experimented with colour, texture and pattern working from their sketchbooks to create printed fabric swatches.

The group had prepared for their screen printing session by creating stencils to use during the process, drawing inspiration from the ‘Fusion,’ brief. The students used these stencils to print multiple times one the same piece of cloth to create repeated patterns.
