*PLEASE NOTE: This event is now open to all 16-21 years old, not just Hackney residents. Please apply ASAP by emailing*

Ever wondered what it is really like to be a fashion journalist? Or maybe you love the idea of working as a PR for a big name fashion label? Then come along to FAD’s Fashion Forward Career workshops in Hackney next week, for the chance to question industry professionals face-to-face.

Sign up for this unique FAD workshop and you could benefit from a careers focused Q&A with Rebecca Moore Editor-in-Chief of IDOL Magazine, Billie-Anna Baier, PR at Dr Martens and Nadine Peters, Designer of Independent label Peters Menswear. Find out how they got to where they are now and what their jobs really involve.

At the workshops you will also hear from young people, just like you, who are now studying fashion and design related subjects at university across the UK. Get their advice, tips and insight into what uni life is really like, rather then just relying on shiny prospectuses to tell you everything you need to know.

Open to 16-21 year olds studying or living in Hackney, this two-day careers event has been carefully designed to give you the knowledge and advice you need to pursue a career in the fashion and creative industries. And the best bit? Thanks to funding from Hackney Council Small Grants it is completely free.
