2014, FAD Projects, Fashion Futures

This week our #FashionFutures tackled the sewing machines and translated their research into designs

The students drew inspiration from their research at the V&A, their moodboards and their brief- Future Continental – to begin their design development.

We will be eagerly waiting to see how their final designs will be translated into toiles over the next few weeks!

The students also had a go at using the industrial machines to practice their garment construction skills.

They learned how to thread the machines and basic stitching skills to produce seams, darts, hems and patch pockets. Through this, we hope that they have gained the confidence to create their toiles.
