At FAD we pride ourselves in working closely with young people helping to bridge the gap between learning about fashion and working in fashion. Our main focus is to make sure that the young people whom we work with get the most out of participating in the workshops, projects and competitions that we run and gain a better understanding on how the fashion industry works.
Since the FAD Junior Awards we have been working hard at launching a new programme which will be in partnership with George ASDA. The ‘George Mentoring Scheme’ aims to build a relationship between George employees and Fashion Futures Finalists, enabling the individual George employees to make a difference to each young person by supporting them in their next steps in their education and career development.
The George mentors and FF2 mentees met for the first time last week and enjoyed a day together getting to know one another at the George headquarters in Lutterworth.
George has been a supporter of the FAD Fashion Futures programme since its inception in 2005, and has been the official Fashion Futures retail partner since 2011. George has supported young people taking part in the programme through sponsorship, industry visits, resources and competitions.
We would like to thank the George Mentors for providing their time & expertise to help further the education of young people!
