FAD really enjoys working with the team at George at Asda. As well as making our Fashion Futures programme possible through their continued sponsorship and support, the design team are always busy dreaming up ways to get our creative teens involved with the George brand.

Last week they set ten Fashion Futures teens the challenge to design and customise footwear for a muse of their choice, under the brief ‘These shoes were made for…’. Using a selection of footwear donated from the George range and materials from FAD, the young designers spent a day at our offices in Old street working on their covetable soles.
There were some fantastic results, from trainers inspired by characters from Monsters Inc, to bespoke footwear customised for singers such as Zooey Deschanel, Erykah Badu, Rita Ora and Little Mix.
This is the second George customising workshop that the FAD team have organised this year. Read all about the first Designing ‘Festival Denim’ session, filmed by our media partners The Muse TV, here.
Well done to all the students who have taken part in George customising workshops this year, and also those who submitted entries for the FAD & George ‘Global Traveller’ Competition at Graduate Fashion Week. More on that competition and Graduate fashion Week coming soon to the FAD Blog!
