Last week was a fun filled few days for the FAD team. After a printing workshop with young people from the Who Cares? Trust next came a day of denim customisation with our Fashion Futures teens.
Sponsored by George at Asda, the denim customising and styling workshop took place on Friday 12th April at the FAD offices in East London, with students from this year’s Fashion Futures workshops.
FAD sponsors George at Adsa sent us a whole load of lovely denim garments for our clever teens to completely re-invent and re-design. Looking to their favourite UK and international music festivals for inspiration their task was to create a unique denim garment for summer 2013.
From bleaching, cutting and ripping – to sewing and trimming, the young designers came up with some interesting concepts for festival fashionistas. Highlights include all weather jeans that can be unzipped into shorts; bow detailed knees and vintage look dresses.
We were very lucky to have our media partners the Muse.tv on hand to capture all the action on film.
After they had completed their creations the young designers took to the FAD roof for their very own photoshoot! Look out for their finished designs in our next post.
