As Fashion Futures workshops draw to a close in London, FAD Project Manager Reyes heads north to kick start the project in Manchester.
On 14th March teenagers from schools and colleges in Salford attended a one day intensive workshop with FAD at the University of Salford. Armed with sketchbooks and moodboards they took part in tutorials with University of Salford fashion tutor Paul, before getting to work on their initial design ideas and development.
Answering the question of what being British means to them, sketchbooks combined key pieces from the V&A’s galleries with images of English tea rituals, the seaside, streetstyle and vintage dressing.
Reyes will return to Salford next week for the Manchester Industry Day, which will be attended by some very special industry guests. Look out for more information on that and pictures from the final London workshops coming soon!
