With only one more Saturday session to go before the final jury day on 24th March, we bring you some behind the scenes shots of our young designers in the latter stages of the London workshops.
Over the past two weeks 100 teens from 18 boroughs of London have been busy sewing and piecing together pattern pieces to create calico toiles inspired by their ideas of ‘Great British Design’. Having created the patterns from scratch in just two Saturday sessions, they now have the challenge of completing them to present to an industry panel at the end of the month.
Ten young people from North London and ten from South London will be selected to go through to the next stage – the FAD Summer School and the 2012 FAD Junior Awards final. The finalists will then be revealed at a special celebration event in May.
As London workshops draw to a close, Reyes was in Manchester this week launching the project to Salford colleges. To see how the first session went read our other blog post here.
Look out for more images of London’s final workshops coming to the FAD blog next week. Good luck to all our budding designers!
